What is a Character Sheet?
A “Character Sheet” tells you what your “Player Character” in D&D is made of. A Player Character is your character in the game, sort of like when you make your own character in video games like Diablo.
Your Character Sheet contains everything that your Player Character is, and can do — in fact, it’s almost exactly like Diablo, except instead of an in-game menu, you’re using a sheet of paper to keep track of everything.
I wrote this series using one of my characters as an example. He’s a Level 1 Human Fighter.
📌 The Character Sheet I’m using here is a custom, unofficial design created by me and my better half, because it’s more newbie-friendly. :) Worry not, once I’ve explained all the parts, you should be able to read and understand many different Character Sheets and their layouts.
In a future post, I’ll teach you how to make your own Character Sheet! But for now, I will just show you all the moving parts so you can jump into the game. :)
